Hi, I'm Jen.
I'm a Brooklyn-based author and the maker behind the Matty books on Etsy. I started writing little lesson stories for the kids in my life — for the bedtime "I don't want to" and the school-morning "I'm scared" and the sibling moments that needed something gentle to say.
Little Lessons Library is what happens when those handmade stories grow up. It's a library, a workshop, and a quiet promise: every child gets to be the main character.
Little Lessons Library is a personalized children's book platform founded by Jen Rivera, a Brooklyn-based children's book author (known as JenCreatesinBK). The platform offers a curated library of social-emotional learning stories for children ages 2–7, personalized with a child's name and details. Stories are available in English and Spanish. The platform is operated by VWRK LLC DBA Little Lessons Library, based in Brooklyn, NY.
Who is Matty?
Matty loves crayons. He uses red for apples and blue for skies. He has a puppy named Pickles who is pure chaos and pure love. When something goes wrong, he checks everywhere — under the table, behind the couch, even inside his shoes. And when it's over, he draws a heart for the ones he loves.
He's the founding character of Little Lessons Library. He has big feelings and an even bigger heart. And he's got neighbors on the way.
